Ayurveda Tables
Ayurveda tables are also known as – Dhroni, Pathi, Shirodhara Table, Ayuveda massage table.
Our wooden Dhronis are made from high quality medicinal woods such as:
- Anjili (Artocarpus Hirsutus) - falling in the family of jackfruit tree and is used mainly for timber to make furniture.
- Arya Veppu (Azadirachta indica) Neem Tree/ Sanskrit name: Nimba – in India this tree is considered as "Divine Tree", "Nature's Drugstore" and "Panacea for all diseases". Products made from neem have proven medicinal properties, being anthelmintic, antifungal, antidiabetic, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fertility and sedative. It is considered a major component in Ayurvedic medicines and is particularly prescribed for skin diseases.
- Koovalam (Aegle marmelose)/ Bael Tree/ Sanskrit name: Vilva - Considered as a Sacred plant and the fruits and leaves are used in religious rituals. It is used Ayurveda for diarrhea, dysentery, intestinal parasites, dryness of the eyes and common cold. It is a very powerful antidote for chronic constipation.
- Poovarasu (Thespesia populnea)/ Portia Tree/ Sanskrit: Plaksa – traditionally it is planted in sacred groves and used for making religious sculpture and a musical instrument "Tavil". The tree is best for wood workings.
- Venga (Pterocarpus Marsupium) Indian Kino Tree/ Sanskrit name: Asana – parts of the tree (heart wood, leaves, flowers) have long been used for their medicinal properties in Ayurveda. The heart wood is used as an astringent and in the treatment of inflammation and diabetes.
- Mahogany (Dysoxylum Fraserianum)/ Indian Rosewood.
